Knox County

Located in the center of Ohio, Knox County was formed in 1808 from Fairfield County and named after the first US Secretary of War, Henry Knox. it has a land area of 525 square miles and, according to the US 2020 census, a population of 62,721. Mount Vernon is its largest city and county seat. The people of Knox County are served by the Court of Common Pleas and Municipal Courts.

The Knox County Court of Common Pleas is the highest in the county and is divided into two divisions: the General and Domestic Relations Divisions and the Probate and Juvenile Divisions. The Knox County Court of Common Pleas - General and Domestic Relations Divisions handles all felonies, civil cases involving claims over $15,000, and domestic relations matters, including civil torts, employment disputes, medical malpractice, contract disputes, divorce, paternity, and spousal support.
