Gloucester County
Gloucester County was founded on May 26, 1686 and named after Gloucestershire County in England. The county had a population of 302,294 as of the 2020 census. Gloucester County stretches across 336.77 square miles, has its county seat in Woodbury, and is part of the South Jersey region of the New Jersey State.
Municipal Courts, Superior Courts, and a Surrogate Court make up the judicial structure of Gloucester County. There are 16 municipal courts that handle various legal matters such as building and construction violation, minor criminal offense, disorderly conduct, traffic violation, misdemeanor, and local ordinance violation cases. Municipal Courts are responsible for handling cases that occur within the boundaries of their municipalities.
Superior Courts in Gloucester County deal with probate, civil, criminal, felony, juvenile, and guardianship cases. They appoint guardians for incapacitated minors and adults. Probate cases are heard in the New Jersey Chancery Division of the Superior Court.
The Surrogate Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. Disputes arising from this court are settled in the Superior Court. Surrogates are judicial officers who act as judges in the Surrogate Court and additionally as Deputy Clerks of Superior Courts.

You can conduct a paid search on the system with an advanced search for court records. You can also search a case by docket number, party name, and judgment number. Note that the public can register for EAP free of charge but you can only conduct limited or personal searches.
Obtaining copies of court records in Gloucester County requires completing a Records Request Form and submitting it electronically to the Superior Court Clerk's Office by email. The New Jersey Court (NJC) portal allows anyone to search for court records remotely. If you are a first time user, you must register on the NJC portal before you can obtain access to court records of your choice.
