Lincoln County is located in the coastal region of southern Maine. It was founded in 1760 from a portion of York County and named after the English city Lincoln. The county is drained by the Sheepscot, Eastern, Damariscotta, and Medomak rivers. According to data recorded in 2020, its population is 35,237, and its seat is Wiscasset.
Lincoln County is served by a Superior Court, District Court, and Probate Court.
