Scott County
Scott County was established in 1837 by the Wisconsin territorial legislature in Iowa. It occupies a land area of about 458.1 square miles with an estimated population of 174,315. The administrative headquarters is located in Davenport.
Scott County is served only by a District Court. The District Court has general jurisdiction over civil, criminal, probate, small claims (less than $5,000), traffic, and ordinance violation cases. It operates specialty courts, including Juvenile, Adult Drug, Family Dependency Treatment, and Mental Health Court.
Scott County Public Court Records include documents, files, tapes, indexes, proceedings, and transcripts associated with court cases in the District Court. In Scott County, interested persons may search public court records online through the Iowa Courts Online Electronic Docket Record Search portal. The public may also access court documents from public access computer terminals at the courthouse. Per Section 22.3 of the Iowa Code, anyone requesting public court records in the state, including Scott County, is required to pay the applicable costs.
