Montgomery County
Created from a part of Monroe County in 1816, Montgomery County is located in Alabama. It is the state's seventh-most populous county, boasting a population of 224,980 people. It is named for Lemuel P. Montgomery, an American soldier who died in the Creek Indian War's final battle. The City of Montgomery is its county seat.
